Happiness is a piece of cake
I felt the same as the moment I was trying to squash the cockroach with my slippers. So powerful. If I want to be more direct, I recommend watching this movie called: “Status Update.” From the moment I watched this movie, I felt an app on my mobile phone backing me up. And when you have a warm feeling tickling you from the backside, you step up. You feel like standing up for your right before it’s too late. From my POV, it is never too late, really. Hear it from me: “Happiness is a piece of cake.” There are two ways to read this. One meaning is happiness is easy to achieve. The second meaning is that you can achieve happiness by eating a piece of cake. I think they are both true. I like cake so much. So, the second meaning works for me without a doubt. The meaning this sentence intends to convey is “Don’t get hard on yourself. Happiness comes from the inside. If you feel satisfied with the things you have, you feel happy. But if you decide to be greedy, your hunger for having more never stops until your last breath.” That was a lot to take in at once. Wasn’t it?
Love doesn’t make the world go around
I felt hurt. I think everybody does once in a while. Especially when you like someone, but there are barriers to seeing the person often. This is universal. Isolation seems sometimes inevitable. People saying hi or goodbye once in a blue moon don’t know if you will visit them again or not. This hurts. Anything about human connection is painful at the end. It’s common you hear: “Love makes the world go around.” but it doesn’t, as Franklin P. Jones has put it this way: “Love doesn’t make the world go around. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” I agree with Franklin. Without love, life would become meaningless. Life isn’t worth living without love. Even it’s hard to picture. But I guess you’ve heard a similar quotation from Shakespeare: “The course of true love never did run smooth.” It may have occurred to you that he was such a pessimist. Despite its bitterness, it’s sadly true. We all have difficulties in our love lives.
Trust is like a paper
Lying is the kiss of death in every relationship. There was a quotation in the movie “The Family Man” that I liked: “A little flirtation is harmless, but you’re dealing with fire here. The fidelity bank and trust are tough creditors. You make a deposit somewhere else, and they close your account forever.” That was catchy. Wasn’t it? I interpret it in my own way. Trust is like a paper. When it gets wrinkled, it will never get like it was at first. Therefore there is zero chance to make things right. Trust isn’t the one you want to play with. It’s better to keep a careful watch on it. It’s sensitive and harmful. If it gets to “trust,” hold your horses and keep it quiet and smooth. Get off your high horses. Be kind, gentle, humble.
