What if there was no “Testosterone”

Since when Porn went worldwide?

In 2023, Pornhub reported over 100 million daily visits. Although compulsive sexual behavior was recognized as a mental health disorder by the WHO in 2018, it does not specifically mention pornography as an addiction. Compulsive sexual behavior refers to repetitive sexual activities becoming the central focus of a person’s life, leading to neglect of health, personal care, and other responsibilities. (1)

Can be Porn addictive?

A study of men who sought treatment for problematic pornography use (PPU) showed that their brains did respond to sexual images. This supports experts who claim that the same brain activity seen in drug or alcohol addiction is also present in heavy pornography users.

Researchers have found out that watching porn doesn’t activate the parts of the brain usually involved with addiction. Studies have struggled with defining what makes this an actual addiction. So we don’t know that either sex addiction or porn addiction are problems. (1)

Do women maturbate?

The funny fact of having a specific vocabulary for “Female Masturbation” in Sweden made me think of how masturbation can be helpful in different parts of someone’s life in various ways. “Klittra” combines the Swedish words for clitoris and glitter. Without saying is evident that the clitoris has a significant role in achieving pleasure via masturbation.

A common misconception is that women don’t masturbate. Although studies have found that young adult men masturbate more than young adult women do, it doesn’t mean that women don’t masturbate at all. In further detail, I should mention that one study found it took an average of eight minutes for the female to climax via masturbation. (2)

What if there was no “Testosterone”?

The pituitary gland controls levels of testosterone. Testosterone has an impact on our body to elevate energy and moods and enhance a person’s sex drive (libido). The low levels of testosterone interfere with sexual arousal. Therefore, the person will be less responsive to sexual arousal.

When the brain’s reward center (striatum) is activated, the part of the brain associated with self-control (lateral orbitofrontal cortex) is inhabited. As a result, during orgasm, the activation of the reward center leads to an intense emotional response.

The male orgasm, also known as the male climax, often but not always ends with ejaculation. So somehow, for most people, climax and ejaculate is equivalent to “cum”. Erection can be the result of sexual stimulation. It usually takes an average of five to seven minutes to reach orgasm and ejaculation, but the range is wide: from less than one minute to over half an hour. (3)
